Sakai Takayuki Gyuto 180mm – White Carbon Steel
Classic Japanese Chef Knife with Traditional Magnolia Wood Handle
The Sakai Takayuki Gyuto 180mm is a compact, high-performance chef knife crafted using traditional Japanese techniques passed down for over 600 years. Ideal for precise slicing, chopping, and general kitchen prep, this blade delivers exceptional sharpness and handling in a refined, lightweight design.
White #2 Carbon Steel Core
Forged with White Steel No.2 (Shirogami), this blade provides outstanding edge sharpness and responsiveness. Hardened to approx. 60–61 HRC, it takes a keen edge easily and performs with unmatched precision. Please note: as a carbon steel blade, it will patina over time and requires proper care to prevent rust.
Double-Edged Blade for Versatile Cutting
The 180mm length is well-suited for tight spaces or smaller cutting boards, while still offering enough length to handle proteins, vegetables, and herbs with ease. The double-edged profile makes it suitable for both left- and right-handed users.
Traditional Magnolia Wood Handle
Fitted with a D-shaped magnolia wood handle, this knife offers a light, well-balanced grip. The natural wood and traditional form provide comfort and control for extended use.
